A seminary for pastors
Praxis focuses on training pastors, aspiring and current, because the local church is God’s plan A to reach a lost world. It is a hybrid seminary on a trimester system: most reading and coursework happens online, and each trimester gathers for a three-day intensive in Reno. Students stay rooted in their local church, keep their jobs, and finish a four-year degree formed by doctrine, application, formation and inspiration.
What every professor affirms
Historic Christianity
- Apostles’, Nicene and Athanasian Creeds
- Chicago Statement on Inerrancy
- Lausanne Covenant
- Gospel Coalition Confessional Statement
Praxis distinctives
- Historically Reformed · the five Solas; God sovereign in all of salvation
- Complementarian · qualified men fill the office of elder
- Missional · sent by the Great Commission to seek the lost
- Spirit-dependent · the Spirit is essential to effective ministry
- Christ-centered · in hermeneutic and proclamation
Kingdom synergy with the 1689 Baptist, Westminster, Belgic and Second Helvetic confessions, and with networks such as Living Stones, Acts 29, SEND, Harbor, One Gospel, PCA, OPC and 1689 Baptists.

Questions we get asked
- Accredited? Not at launch. Accreditation will be pursued only if it serves the mission.
- Who can enroll? Members in good standing commended by their pastor, aspiring or active pastors, serving in a local church. Praxis trains men for the office of pastor.
- Scholarships? Potentially for stage-two church planters. The tuition itself functions like a 50% scholarship against other seminaries.
- Faster track? No. Four years is deliberate; formation takes time. One class per trimester is allowed and doubles the timeline.
- Doctoral programs? No. Praxis trains pastors, not researchers.
- Denomination? None. Praxis has kingdom synergy with several reformed networks and denominations.
